Share the Petition Again!

Share the Petition Again!

MAY 10, 2021 —

Help us by once again sharing our Petition to Save Keeseville’s Historic Bridges. No Donations Please. The 1878 Upper Bridge is the last known through Truss built by Murry, Dougan and Company in the world. The 1890 Old State Road bridge is a Pony Pratt Truss Bridge, and is very rare due to it’s double span continuous design. Out 1888 Pedestrian Suspension bridge is still open but in desperate need of maintenance. Each of our Bridges are on the National Registry of Historic Places. Each of them are National Civil Engineering Landmarks. These aren’t just old bridges. They aren’t just National Historic Bridges. They aren’t just civil engineering landmarks. They are unique bridges designed and built during an experimental and developmental period in civil engineering, and they are the last of their kind in the world. Help us send a message to Clinton and Essex County by sharing and signing this petition. Our towns have passed resolutions to save them, the community wide support is unprecedented. Remember when signing the petition, no donations please! Please share on other social media platforms, in emails, and text messages or anywhere else you can find a place for this to be seen! Thank you for the support!

Clinton County Legislature invited for Bridge Tour

Clinton County Legislature invited for Bridge Tour

MAY 10, 2021 —

Tonight I invited every member of the Clinton County Legislature (once again) to tour our bridges. To see them with their own eyes, and to hear how important these bridges are. I’ve encouraged them that anyone with the power to vote on an important issue, should see with their own eyes, and hear what we have learned over the last 8 months. I will walk the same walk 100 times if need be to save these bridges. Our goal is to not focus on the negative, but to work WITH our county officials. To be positive and respectful. We want to 1) Preserve History and save our bridges 2) Right a Wrong from years ago and 3) Make History by setting a precedent in NY that historic bridges can and should be saved.
